Lugareño stands for home-style – it is also the name of the little town in the province of Camagüey in Cuba where Ramon Garcia set up as the Master Chorizero Sausage Maker, when he came from Asturias, Spain, in the 1920’s. He brought with him his skill and his family recipes and life was good. In 1959 with the coming of Fidel Castro, the Garcia family moved again - this time to Miami, Florida.
Exiles from Spain and Cuba soon came in search of Lugareño chorizos. The flavor and quality reminded them of family and fiestas.
Now Lugareño Brand leads the way in the Supermarkets and bodegas of the Latin-flavored city of Miami and has aficionados in other US cities and overseas.
